Cusco is one of my all-time favorite cities. It brings back nostalgia reading this post. Thanks for the wonderful tips, Ashleigh. Mercado San Blas is excellent. Also, Plaza Blas was one of my favorite places to relax.
We will be in Colombia in a couple of weeks. And hope to get to Peru sometime this year. We have been acclimating to altitude in Colorado. We spent 3 1/2 weeks at 7000 feet and just did 2 nights at 10,000. We are back in Denver at a mere 5,000. Looking forward to reading more about Peru.
That will be a great trip! I’ll be writing about Colombia in a few weeks as well. I highly recommend heading to Perú afterward if you have time. The altitude in Cusco takes a day or two to get used to, but I didn’t have any issues. Thank you for reading!
We might have been there at the same time. Last April? The protests were winding down. I absolutely loved my time there. Spent time in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. Hiked the Inca Trail. Peru became a favorite country. And the food. So fresh. Such attention to detail. Thanks for sharing your experience, and recommendations. I look forward to reading more. I wrote a bit about it too if you want to check it out.

Thanks for reading, Dan, the whole San Blas neighborhood is lovely 😌
Agreed! I truly love Cusco. It’s a wanderer paradise.
